Scope of Practice
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. - Howard Thurman, 20th Century Theologian and Activist
My work in private practice is geared toward helping people to identify, address, and overcome the distress associated with a number of life style and life changing events. Whether one is living with a diagnosed mental health condition, having difficulty dealing with everyday life stressors, struggling to adapt to painful life transitions, or seeking clarity and direction regarding important life decisions, counseling can be a tremendous help and support in one's effort to live with courage and conviction. While I maintain a general individual counseling practice, I also focus on:
1) the impact of trauma across the life span for men and women;
2) men and women exploring life challenges and choices related to transitioning to adulthood; and
3) adults living with serious mental health conditions, helping to manage symptoms and develop recovery and wellness plans.
